Intro. The pictures in this collection are all captured during a feature trip to Afghanistan in May 2004. They are images of a country that has seen civil war, fundamentalism and invasion. But they are also images of a beautiful country where hope still sparkles in the eyes of the Afghans. Like in the eyes of this old man whom I met in a village in Northern Afghanistan. He has seen Russians, mujaheedin and Taliban-soldiers come and go and now awaits the future with UN, Nato and the American forces.
